Homemade Masks

New Stylish Protective Masks

      As the Covid-19 has grown out of the control these past three months, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends to the public that they were medical masks in order to try to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. Naturally, these medical masks have become scarce, because the whole country is constantly trying to buy them to keep their friends and families safe. 


      We need masks as a protective gear these days. Many designers and creative professionals took it upon themselves to design fashionable and colorful masks to sell online. I find these creative masks to be an amazing idea because these masks will work to keep individuals healthy, and they are also a fun and creative way to boost up morale during this pandemic time. I find it so inspiring that individuals and companies are trying to find a way to be helpful during this global health crisis. For example, Etsy is a website that focuses on all handmade items. Etsy has decided to create several different types of homemade masks for people in need. People all over the world are creating these masks in order to make sure all the medical and surgical masks go to people who are working in the hospitals every day in search of a cure to this horrible disease. These individuals are making these masks in their own homes in order to stay positive and busy during this quarantine. 


      These designers are really taking the creation of these masks seriously by making sure that they are following the Center for Disease Control's guidelines on what makes a suitable mask for health care professionals. A designer named Batanti- Khalfani has created colorful masks like in the photo above for both all members of society, including health providers. Health professionals are loving this idea of colorful masks because it is a little joy that is put in their current stressful work life. I feel that these creative masks should only be released to the health care department, when it is definitely confirmed that they provide the same protection as surgical masks. I believe in this because these health care workers are the people who are risking their lives every day. We need to make sure that they have the right equipment on them to keep them as safe as possible at all times.
      I personally love this idea of creative masks. I love how even though this virus has caused so much damage and sadness to our country, it has always brought us together as a country. This virus has encouraged people to go out of their way to try and help others that they know are suffering. This virus has definitely allowed our country to put away our egos, and come together as one. The creative masks are just one example of people having the country's best interest at heart.

President Trump's Border Wall

President Trump has received funds to build the border wall The Appeals Court has now denied the injunction that was trying to prohibit President Donald Trump to reallocate military money that was approved for other military projects.  President Trump is reallocating some of the military construction funds to build a border wall between the US and Mexico. Trump’s administration claimed that the country will suffer harm if it didn’t build the wall. He declared it a state of emergency last winter. The Appeals court ruled in Trump’s favor. Trump made a campaign promise to build a wall in 2016.
